Terms and Conditions
By booking an excursion with Shore Excursion Scotland, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the Terms and Conditions outlined below. These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made through our website or via direct communication. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not proceed with your booking.
1. Booking and Payment
Passengers must pay the full cost of their chosen excursion at the time of booking.
All payments must be made in GBP (British Pounds Sterling).
The company accepts most major credit cards via its secure online payment portal.
Bookings can be made via the ‘Book Now’ section on the Shore Excursion Scotland website.
If the selected excursion is fully booked, passengers may opt to join a waiting list. Placement on the waiting list does not guarantee availability but offers the chance to join the excursion if seats become available.
All excursions can also be booked on a private basis. For availability and price quotations, please contact us via the online form in the 'Book Now' section of the website or email us directly at info@shoreexcursionscotland.com.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
Passenger Cancellations
Passengers may cancel their booking at any time, with refunds processed as follows:
75% refund for cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the excursion start date.
50% refund for cancellations made between 14 and 7 days prior to the excursion start date.
No refund for cancellations made within 7 days of the excursion start date.
Company Cancellations
Should the company cancel an excursion, passengers will receive a 100% refund, issued via the original payment method.
When possible, passengers may be offered a transfer to another available excursion:
If the new excursion is of lesser value, the difference will be refunded.
If the new excursion is of greater value, no additional charges will be applied.
Additional Terms
All refunds are issued in GBP. The company is not liable for any fluctuations in foreign exchange rates or any financial losses resulting from these fluctuations.
Passengers are responsible for any bank fees, conversion charges, or other costs related to processing refunds.
The company strongly advises passengers to obtain independent travel insurance to cover cancellations, delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.
3. Shore Excursion Guarantee
If your ship is unable to dock on the day of the scheduled excursion, you will receive a 75% refund of the total cost.
All excursions are planned to return to the port at least one hour before the ship’s departure time. In the unlikely event of delays, all necessary steps will be taken to ensure you return to the ship on time.
4. Minimum Passenger Requirement
Each excursion requires a minimum of five (5) passengers to operate. If the minimum is not met, Shore Excursion Scotland reserves the right to cancel the excursion and offer an alternative or a full refund.
5. Transport Providers
All excursions operated by Shore Excursion Scotland are fulfilled by third-party transport providers, who are experienced and professional tour operators.
Shore Excursion Scotland does not:
Own, maintain, or control the vehicles, premises, or equipment used by the transport providers.
Assume responsibility for the safety, comfort, or seating arrangements of passengers during the excursion.
Responsibility for passenger safety, comfort, and seating arrangements lies solely with the transport provider.
Itinerary Adjustments:
In the event of any risk of delay affecting the scheduled return to the ship, the transport provider has full and overriding authority to modify the itinerary.
These modifications will be made as deemed necessary to ensure passengers’ timely and safe return to the port.
Passengers acknowledge that no refunds or adjustments will be provided if such changes occur.
In-vehicle Recording Devices:
Some vehicles may be equipped with in-vehicle recording devices, such as dash cams, which may record audio and/or video during the excursion.
Shore Excursion Scotland does not have access to or control over any recordings made by these devices.
Passengers are advised that such recording devices may be in use during the excursion.
6. Passenger Conduct
Passenger Responsibility:
Passengers are solely responsible for their own safety and the safety of their personal belongings throughout the duration of the excursion.
Shore Excursion Scotland is not liable for any loss, theft, damage, or injury to personal property during the excursion.
Compliance with Instructions:
Passengers are required to comply with all reasonable instructions provided by the transport providers and their staff, including tour operators and drivers, during the excursion.
Failure to adhere to such instructions may result in removal from the excursion without a refund, at the sole discretion of the transport provider or Shore Excursion Scotland.
7. Insurance
Shore Excursion Scotland maintains all appropriate and requisite insurance coverage for the operation of its excursions, including public liability insurance and other necessary policies to ensure the safe and secure operation of its services.
It is strongly recommended that all passengers have appropriate travel insurance in place to cover any unforeseen circumstances or incidents that may occur during the excursion.
8. Passenger Eligibility and Accessibility
Our semi-private excursions are not suitable for children under the age of 12. We strongly recommend booking a private excursion if travelling with younger children.
For passengers with mobility issues, please note that the transport providers' vehicles are not wheelchair accessible. Passengers must be able to safely embark and disembark the vehicle unassisted. This includes individuals using mobility aids such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers, or crutches.
If you or someone in your party requires such assistance, please inform us at the time of booking to ensure the excursion is suitable for your needs.
If, on the day of the excursion, a passenger presents themselves and appears physically unable to safely participate in the excursion, the transport provider reserves the right to refuse participation. In such cases, no refund will be provided.
9. Force Majeure
The company does not accept liability for any loss, inconvenience, or damage caused by war, threat of war, riot or civil commotion, terrorist or criminal activity, industrial disputes, natural disasters, fires, illness, weather conditions, road traffic conditions, or temporary technical, electrical, or mechanical breakdown.
10. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Shore Excursion Scotland regarding the use of our services, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
