  • Your adventure begins after collection on dry land from your cruise port, and we set off through the picturesque Fife countryside towards the village of Falkland. This charming village, once a royal hunting ground for the Stuart kings, is renowned for its Palace, one of Scotland’s finest examples of Renaissance architecture. Falkland’s picturesque streets and stunning surroundings also served as the backdrop for the hit TV series Outlander, where it portrayed a late 1940’s Inverness. The village is a perfect spot to stretch your legs and take in the history before we continue our journey.

Next, we arrive in St Andrews, a town famous for its historical and cultural significance. As the birthplace of golf, it is home to the world-famous Old Course, where golf has been played for centuries. You’ll also discover the striking Cathedral, once Scotland's largest church, and the imposing Castle perched on the cliffs overlooking the North Sea. The town is also home to the University of St Andrews, the oldest in Scotland and the alma mater of several members of the British royal family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton.

You’ll have over an hour and a half to explore the town’s mediaeval streets, enjoy its beautiful coastline, and savour a leisurely lunch before we continue our journey.

After St Andrews, we’ll journey through the picturesque East Neuk, often considered the prettiest part of Fife, with its fishing villages strung along the rugged coastline. Each one we visit offers a unique glimpse into Scotland’s maritime history and rural charm. As we pass through charming places like Anstruther, you’ll be captivated by the colourful harbours, narrow streets, and traditional Scottish architecture with a little bit of a Dutch twist.

As your day comes to a close, you’ll head back to the cruise port, carrying with you the unforgettable sights and stories of your time ashore in the Kingdom of Fife.

  • For any shore excursion in Scotland, preparation is key to enjoying your adventure comfortably. Our weather is famously changeable, so checking the forecast and dressing in layers is essential:

    • Light base layer

    • Sweater or fleece

    • Waterproof jacket

Comfortable shoes are also a must, as many destinations feature cobbled streets, rugged trails, or castle grounds that require footwear capable of handling different types of uneven surface.

While many places accept cards, having a bit of cash on hand can be helpful.

A small backpack is useful for carrying essentials like snacks, extra clothing, and any souvenirs you may pick up along the way.

Finally, don’t forget to bring a camera or smartphone to capture all those sights on your excursion with us!
